Re-Imagining the K-12 'Operating System'

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The K12 education-industrial community has spent vast resources and endless focus on changing elements of learning like curriculum, textbooks, computer hardware and software, the norms of standardized tests, and making small changes to daily schedules. The problem is that there has been no fundamental upgrade or reimagining of the basic “operating system” of education for 150 years. Upgrading K-12 education to a system that is dramatically better-tuned to the needs of students' futures will require challenging the archaic fundamental assumptions of the system. We will explore what some elements of that new OS might be based on input from thousands of K-12 educators at more than 100 schools around the country.  Attendees will take away concrete steps for how to design and build a stakeholder-sourced, ecosystem-based education operating system uniquely tuned to their school.

After the session, Grant will be signing copies of his book, #EdJourney: A Roadmap to the Future of Education.
