A balanced literacy program is most effective when children are given direct instructional support and a variety of daily reading and writing experiences needed in the complex process of becoming independent readers and writers. Integrating technology into a balanced literacy classroom is not an overnight process. (Shettel & Bower, 2013) However with the tools we will provide in our session, participants will have a better grasp on ways to incorporate technology into their balanced literacy classroom.
